Seaside Rendezvous

I used this to introduce the topic of seaside and holidays, there are also some useful collocations and some french which you are likely to hear in English. As I was teaching an intermediate teens class I just gave them the language as fixed phrases.

Seaside Rendezvous

Seaside - whenever you stroll along with me
You say will if you could but you can’t, I love you madly
A brand new angle, highly commendable, Seaside Rendezvous
Meanwhile, I ask you to be my Clementine
I'm merely contemplating what you feel inside
Let my imagination run away with you gladly

I feel so romantic, can we do it again
Can we do it again sometime, (ooh I’d like that)
This time of year, it's so fashionable,
Fantastic, c'est la vie mesdames et messieurs
And at the peak of the season, the Mediterranean ,

I feel like dancing in the rain,
(just keep right on dancing )
Can I have a volunteer
It's such a jollification as a matter of fact,
so tres charmant my dear
what a damn jolly good idea

Underneath the moonlight, together we'll sail across the sea
Seaside Rendezvous, so adorable,
You say you‘d have to tell your Daddy if you can
Reminiscing every night
We'll ride upon an omnibus and then the casino
Be your Valentino
Get a new facial, start a sensational
Meantime, I ask you to be my Valentine
Seaside Rendezvous, Seaside Rendezvous , Give us a kiss

If I were a boy - Beyonce

I used this one to teach the 2nd Conditional

"If I Were A Boy" - Beyonce

If I were a boy
I'd roll out of bed in the morning
And chase after girls
Drink beer with the guys
Even just for a day
I'd kick it with who I wanted, and I'd never get confronted for it
And throw on what I wanted then go
Cause they'd stick up for me

(Chorus)
If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man
I'd listen to her
'Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
'Cause he's taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

If I were a boy

'Cause I know that she'd be faithful
Tell everyone it's broken
I'd put myself first
And make the rules as I go
So they'd think that I was sleeping alone
I would turn off my phone
Waiting for me to come home, to come home

(chorus)

It’s a little too late
For you to come back
If you thought I would wait for you
Think I forgive you like that
Well you thought wrong
Say it’s just a mistake

But you’re just a boy
How it feels to love a girl
You don’t listen to her
Someday you’ll wish you were a better man
You don’t understand (Yeah you don’t understand)
You don’t care how it hurts

Until you lose the one you wanted
'Cause you’ve taken her for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

But you’re just a boy...

Count on me - Bruno Mars

From a suggestion on busyteacher.org, I created this worksheet on the song by Bruno Mars for the 1st Conditional.

Count on me – Bruno Mars

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
..........
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
..........
Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
 (Chorus)
You can count on me like one, two, three, ..........
And I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two, ..........
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do,
oh yeah, oooooh oooooh, ohh yeah ,yeah
If you're tossin' and you're turnin' and you just can't fall asleep
..........
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
..........
oh oh oh
Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
Chorus
You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
..........
(Chorus)
You can count on me 'cause I can count on you...

and you'll be there

everyday I will remind you

I’ll be the light to guide you

 I’ll be there

I’ll never let go, never say goodbye

I’ll sail the world to find you

I’ll sing a song beside you
